CHAPTER TWO

Leigh did not take long to explore the house, which after all was his. David did not object, since what needed to be saved was hiding in a place where he never imagined. The boy went into a room where they had some furniture with a thin layer of dust, but that was enough to make him sneeze. He saw an unmade bed, a desk, which contained only a lamp and a blank notebook, a wardrobe and a bedside table, where there was a frame on it. Leigh held it and saw a couple; the woman had black medium hair and gently rolling blue eyes as the man had honey-colored eyes with messy hair in brown.
- They are your parents. - David said as he ran down to the hall to get another box - This was the fourth of his mother. Everything was as it was just nineteen years ago, when you were born.
- I never asked this before, but how do you know so much?
- I worked with your parents in the same department. After the company disappeared two months after the death of your mother, I could devote all my time to take care of you.
- What was her name?
- Holly. Holly Michaelis.
Leigh put the frame back in place and looked around, looking for more pictures that could make him know her more, but did not find anything.
- I'd like to remember her.
- And you can. After all she died with you in her arms. For better or worse you saw her face and heard her voice at least once.
- How do you think I'll get to remember?
- I'm just saying.
- Easier said than done.
David shrugged and continued carrying the boxes while Leigh rummaged through the wardrobe. There was nothing but some coats and casual clothes with a few pairs of shoes. Still, he did not believe that a brilliant scientist as Holly would not let something hidden somewhere and kept searching.
- What happened? Did not you find nothing of interest?
- It is impossible that she did not have a journal, a notebook or something like that.
- Holly never trusted roles because she feared she might lose them some time or that could stolen them when she died. For this reason, she kept it in a database, but she never said the location for anyone, not even to me. Leigh was not happy, however he hoped one day to find that database. After a quick shower, he turned on the computer to make a college work and as soon as he touched the keys, he saw no more letters and even images like all people see when they use a computer, but codes and binary sequences, all the components. It was like he was in a completely different and new world, as if he had been absorbed into that place.
