☣ IT'S ALIVE ☢

  Year 2074.
- It's waking up.
- No, it's not. Still in a state of unconsciousness and it seems it will take to wake up.
- You think we can?
- Hard to say. We are the first to do this kind of thing.
Holly Michaelis was a brilliant scientist from the Robotics Intelligence department who came from Germany to Sweden as the only prodigy of her robotics engineering class. She met Phil Maxtor, who worked in the same department but was killed by own robot he had invented. Yes, that was one of the hazards of working with machines that have human intelligence: they rarely obey the creator. However, Holly was undaunted because of this and for years she has been trying to develop a human species with robotic intelligence, but so far all experiments failed. Even with all that, she spent sleepless nights looking for formulas and doing calculations that could guarantee her success and now after nineteen failures, she finds a new solution for this new creation

She saw her creation with closed eyes on a bed whose heart rate was low. For a moment she thought that experiment also would not survive, but every time I thought about it the heartbeat of the experience came back to beat regularly for a few minutes.
- I hope this is successful.
- Me too.
- I do not understand why all this obsession.
- I promised to Phil that I would do this since I thought about it and will not give up until it succeed.
- Well, it may even be that this time everything works, but maybe he can have some problems.
- This can improve later.
The heart rate of that experience vanished, destroying the hope of Holly. It was the twenty-fault, but where was the mistake this time? She hung up the apparatus and began to scrutinize each calculation, every formula and every little cell in order again.
- It's time to go.
- I will stay here.
All had left the department, but she did not budge. While she did not find out where was the fault of that time Holly would not sleep. A cup of strong coffee and she was again doing research and testing theories on the computers of the department.

It was three o'clock in the morning and there was nothing wrong with that experiments. Calculations indicated that everything was correct, the formula was perfect and all the biological details were clean.
- What's wrong with you? - She sighed, collapsing in a chair next to the bed where lay the dead experience.
The eyes of the creature flew open, which startled the woman at first. Were blue; however near violet, forming a single color. Holly got up from the chair slowly, fearing that any sudden movement it could ruin everything, but nothing happened beyond that. It was just an error in the CPU, she thought.
There was not an error in the CPU. Tears began to form in the child's eye corners and the cry came next.
- It's alive ... - Holly did not believe what she was seeing - It's alive!
She hastened to care for the child and held it in her lap. It was not a bit different from a normal human baby and it was just enough to feel the warmth of her child not to cry more. Now it was Holly who was crying. After all this time, after so many attempts she managed.
- How do I call you?
She looked at the sleeping child, trying to think of a unique and special name for that little miracle. Yes it was not a miracle, but science, but what does it matter now? The twenty trying it was alive and it was perfect.
- Yes, I know now. Your name will be ...
The lab door opens brutally and all that Holly could see was a gun pointed at her.
- Do not hurt him, please! Let ...
Her vision darkened, along with the child's name, which did not come out of her mouth.
