☣ ERROR SIX

- Leigh!
David was concerned. It was the third time he rummaged through the whole house and tried to call him, but his cellphone was off.
- Leigh! If this is a joke, you need to know that you are not a child! Come here now!
No answer. David was getting tired of looking as it was getting worried. He tried to call the boy again, but his cell phone was still off. David stared at the phone until finally dialed another number that was not Leigh.
- What happened?
- Leigh disappeared.
- You must be joking.
- I'm not! I'm looking for him for three hours! He disappeared, Edward.
- That's not what he would do. Even knowing something that could change his life, Leigh would not disappear like that without giving news. I'll see what I can do here.
- He turned off this signal, I can not find it.
- I'm sure that the virus has disabled his sign, so that he would not be tracked. Anyway, I'll try to help.

Leigh was sitting on a bench in a square which was in an opposite side where he lived, reading the error report for the thousandth time. The feeling of weakness and dizziness were still there, but were not as frequent. Anyway, the headache he felt was terrible, as if he had taken a very heavy blow.
He looked around. There was no living creature around and no open establishment. It seemed it was an abandoned area a long time ago and which was formerly made up of various industries but who now were no longer there. Certainly they were defeated by technology and now serve as the backdrop for a ghost neighborhood. Leigh activated night vision and saw that theinside of most buildings had been looted, so that some served as a home for those who had nowhere to live. He saw some people lying in deep sleep, but not many.
The boy looked building by building until he saw that one of them was in good condition, as if it had been recently abandoned. Leigh could see all the equipment and furniture and realized he should be treated any tecnology company, but they had some occupants.

- Edward, what do we do? I looked all the neighborhood and did not find him.
- Leigh can not have gone far. We will continue looking for tomorrow.
- Tomorrow? Edward! Tomorrow may be too late!
- We will not find him now, try to contain yourself.
David typed without stopping until he finally found what he wanted.
- It seems that it will not be long before Leigh is controlled by the virus.
- How long do we have?
   David swallowed.
- Three days.

☣ ERROR FIVE

Leigh was silent in the car all the time. Nothing that David could say was able to get him to say something. If what Edward said was true, then he should move away the most of everything, so that he could do no harm to anyone. He still felt tired, as if he had not slept for days and days.
- Leigh, I'm here to talk, you can trust me.
- My mother knew that?
- I'm sure not. She entered this virus on you for a last attempt to protection, but she had not tested yet.
- Edward can not create an antivirus and remove it?
- This is not a common virus, Leigh. No one who was affected by it got rid completely. Dylan still has that virus in quarantine, but there is no vaccine for it yet. Edward said he will try to do something, but I do not think that will happen.
He got out and went to the room without another word. Leigh took a cable and connected the laptop to try to find something in Holly's database, however he found nothing that could talk  about the virus. Maybe it was a last minute measure so she could be sure of any Stanford's attempt to access all the data that was on it. Anyone affected by it was not  managed to recover, that's what David said, so this meant that he no doubt would have no recovery. Thus, what good if he was locked in his room? One way or another, the virus would take over and he would wounding David and that wasnot  something he really wanted.
Leigh opened the bedroom door slowly. Everything was silent, indicating that certainly David was sleeping at the moment. The boy returned to his room and changed his clothes, leaving the more subtle way he managed to get up in the living room, where he took his leather jacket that was on the couch and went out the front door. He could not just sitting waiting while David and Edward worked trying to find a solution to his problem.

- Leigh?
- Is Edward here?
- No, he went out.
- Great. - He went without Dylan and was allowed to Edward lab.
Dylan followed Leigh and saw him enter impatiently and with great agility, as if he were looking for something without being discovered. Finally, a sheet exits, and the boy reads quickly before folding the paper and keep it in his jacket pocket.
- What will you do with it?
- Do not tell anyone I was here, understood?
- But ...
- Do not tell anyone, I have my reasons.
- Okay, okay. - Dylan felt defeated by the insistence of the boy.
Leigh nodded and disappeared as quickly as it had appeared. Dylan could not understand clearly what just happened there, but he felt compassion of another boy.

The boy walked the streets, thinking of the report was on Edward's computer. He was determined not to return home until a solution. He stopped suddenly. What kind of solution? He'd be out there looking for a solution that would never have? Sooner or later, David realize he was not there and would start looking for him. It does not matter, he thought, but he had to try.
It started to get dark, but he would not come home. Maybe sometime David was already crazy looking for him. Anyway, he was determined not to return without an answer. Realizing that he was very close to his home, Leigh turned around and headed further away from his house and could mainly from Edward's house.

☣ ERROR FOUR

Edward kept frowning throughout the Leigh scanning process. There was not something good there, he knew it because of the sounds that issued the scanner. David stared at the computer screen without distracting for one second until it was over. What would have happened to him? By the time they could not know, anyway, the computer would reveal it sooner or later.
- Did Stanford do something to him?
- I don't think so. He always leaves evidence of his work. Whatever it is is something internal that arose when both the robotic parts of human body parts. This can be a malaise passenger or a serious error.
- Do not tell me that. I do not want to think about the possibility of any errors.
Edward looked away for a moment the screen to face David.
- You got attached to him, is not it?
- I had to create him since he was a baby until the present day. It is natural that I'm feeling like this. It is as if Leigh was my son.
The scanning finished and the computer had finished processing the errors that were found. Edward looked closely and shook the head in negative.
- It seems to be a serious mistake.
- What?
   David pushed
Edward to the side and his eyes stopped in written in red on the bottom of the screen: "Fatal Error". He searched far as he could to find out what it was that fatal error and how to solve it.
- And if you do not find the resolution?
- Shut up. I know I will have some solution. Leigh can not stay that way ... Oh, no. No, no, no! It can not be! Edward! Tell me what I'm seeing is crazy!
Edward came over and read the complete error report. It was just one error, but the most fatal of all and that, according to the diagnosis made by the computer, there wouldn't be a solution.
- I'm sorry, but it is not crazy. There is no solution for his error.
David clenched his fists, feeling unable for the first time.
- There is no solution?
- No.
- Solution for what?
Leigh was getting up and going towards them. David could not look at the kid and think that this error would convict him. Even just being a foster parent, Leigh was important to him in a way.
- For your error. - Edward replied.
- I have an error?
- Yes. The fact that you lost the
consciousness was the result of this error, as all the other symptoms you have had so far.
He waited that some of them finished the completion of error, however he realized they would not answer when he saw David avoiding looking at him and Edward apart.
- You started talking, now ending. I'm not leaving here without an answer.
Both scientists looked at each other and David took a deep breath.
- The virus is
dominating your body.
- This is ridiculous. If that were true, it should have started doing this when it was activated.
- It was acknowledging the functioning of your body with robotic parts before starting to take control. The virus was divided and both parties are attacking your human and robotic sides until you become a machine under its control.
David analyzed carefully Leigh's expression, which remained soft, as if it was not something fatal.
- Edward, what you have to say?
- There is no way to reverse the effect of the virus. We also have no solution at the moment. It's just a matter of time until you be controlled like a puppet.

☣ ERROR THREE

Leigh never heard David talking to himself before, however, he could hear him from his room. The boy was lying in bed again, feeling more tired than ever when he hears the call of his adoptive father. Reluctantly, he gets up and follows the way to the living room.
- Wow!
The exclamation of a familiar voice caught the attention of Leigh, whose eyes met Edward, who held the startled expression.
- Did you call me for this? I already know them.
- Looks like someone woke up in a bad mood.
- I was not sleeping.
- Then why are you with that expression?
Leigh sighed and turned away without answering the Edward's provocation as he always did. Something in his mind said he did not feel any stay there. He was tired and again the feeling of weakness and if he stay there for more time, he would feel even worse.
Dylan watched his conduct carefully, without looking away in no time. However, his sensors could not grasp what was wrong.
- Can you see? That's what I'm talking about. It is as if that he was not the real Leigh.
- It really does not look good. Did you find out someting, Dylan?
The boy shook his head in negative.
- We have to world hard to know. However, Leigh can not suspicious of our presence in this house.
- Okay.
They heard footsteps coming down the hall toward where they were and fell silent again.
- Leigh, is everything okay?
- Yes. Why?
- Do You ...
- I will not be here wasting my time waiting for you to say ...
- Leigh!
The boy began to feel severe headaches and fell to the ground, losing consciousness in then.

☣ ERROR TWO

Leigh looked at the clock. He slept for five hours and he did not remember having slept too much. Anyway, even then he was feeling exhausted, as if something or someone was draining his energy without stopping.
The boy crossed with David in the hallway.
- Leigh, are you okay?
- Yes, why?
- You are paler than the wall. Are you sure?
- Do not worry, David, I'll be fine.
David patted the boy's shoulder. As expected, Leigh gave no answer and went downstairs to the kitchen slowly, for all his body was sore. He looked at what was on the table, however, his stomach began to hurt at once until he felt the bitter taste of bile in his throat, making him cough and for a moment he could not breathe. The feeling of vertigo came back and his legs went weak. What was going on? Why was this happening again. He did not know. Anyway, if he told it to David he would have more problems.
- Leigh! What's happening there?
- It's nothing, it's okay.
- You are not hiding anything from me, are you?
- You think I'm a child? Of course not.
David did not answer, however, he called Edward.
- What happened?
- Leigh is strange.
- And you realized it only now?
- I'm serious. He is pale and I heard coughs have a crisis in the kitchen. Also, Leigh looked weak.
- If you can bring it here I can better analyze what happens.
- Could you come here?
- Why?
- Leigh will not accept to go to your house, even if I don't tell anything. If you come will be easier.
There was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone.
- I'll see what I can do.

- Hurry up, man.

☣ ERROR ONE

The agents left moments later, without paying attention to any of them that were there. Anyway, neither scientists nor the hybrids seemed to care about the agents, so that each continued immersed in their own thoughts.
David was the first to break the silence.
- What will you do now, Leigh?
- What kind of question is that?
- So far you were hunting, but the threat was finally neutralized. You finally developed all your skills and, theoretically, no longer of any university. What will you do now?
- You're right ... I do not know. However, I have of time to decide. - He looked at Dylan - And you? What will you do?
- I can not leave the Stanford's company end up that way. I plan on taking control of it.
Edward put his hand on the boy's shoulder.
- So you will not be alone.
- Hey! Leigh!
   David hurried behind the boy.
- What is the problem?
- I just had enough of it. I want to go home.
- So go ahead. I will help them.
Leigh nodded and made his way back home while David returned to the company.
- What happened?
- Leigh is tired.
- I understand.
They understand what Dylan was not able to understand. He never imagined someone with such a superior design and advanced feeling some kind of tiredness or stress. Yes, even with robotic parts he was still a human, however hybrids were more resistant and it should not have affected him that way.

Soon, the front door of the house was closed gentily behind Leigh. He had never felt so tired before. Perhaps the fact that it was forced to take the form of Dylan for so long has the worn, he thought. The boy climbed the stairs slowly and headed for the shower, in order to be able to sleep then. The warm water made him feel good again, though a sense of vertigo overwhelmed him as he was leaving the bathroom. Leigh had never felt this before, anyway, it should be tired, he said to himself. With wet hair he lay in bed and fell asleep immediately

♕ XIV- stay or not

- Are you sure?
- Yes. - I looked directly into his eyes.
- So I want you to say out loud.
His eyes gave me the courage I needed. He did not seem concerned about the fact that I make mistakes or not, he just seemed to want to hear what I thought.
- Do not be afraid, I will ever stay angry if you make a mistake.
- You're an angel of darkness.
- And why do you think that?
- Because I remember that in the book said that angels
of darkness and demons have immortality and power, all that Ethan wanted. However, I still had doubts because you had characteristics of both, so I could not tell for sure what you were. However, I remembered all that you did to me to find out what you were and I saw that demons do their best to keep secrets as angels of darkness show that they have a secret and make people feel comfortable to discover it. That's exactly what you're doing.
Vincent opened a sweet smile for me, but I still was not sure that my thought was right.
- I feel the happiest man in the world now, because I do not have to hide anymore from you. Finally you know what I'm ... - he looked at me with concern - Are you afraid of me?
- Of course not, how could I be afraid of you? Vincent, what happened to you was an accident and you will always be sweet to me, as that prom night.
   His smile widened even more.
- I promise I'll be like this forever. However, now you have to decide whether to stay here with me or not.
I could not decide it for myself, after all what I should do to get back to my world was done and certainly I should not stay there long. Tears streamed down my face without my noticing. As expected, Vincent the dried them gently.
- Why are you crying, my love? I'll be here anyway for you and I always will be. I love you.
- Vincent... Vincent ...
He hugged me tenderly while I lost control of the body where I was. Gradually, I was not feeling his arms and hear everything that he spoke.
- Thanks for helping me. - I heard the voice of Bridget happier than ever. - Do not be sad, I know you'll find someone like Vincent.
This was not really a consolation. Bridget did not know that in my world no boys like Vincent.

- It's been two hours since she lost the consciousness, are you sure that she will wake up?
- Yes, it was only a slight fainting from lack of food. I believe she will wake up soon.
Two hours? I stayed there for days and I still could not move my body, though I knew I was back in it. My body was weak and I clearly remembered that I had not had breakfast. I tried to move my hand.
- She is moving.
I felt a hand that I could not be my mother nor my father holding my wrist carefully for a few seconds. I opened my eyes slowly until you see the face of my mother. She seemed relieved to see me wake up. I looked around. Yes, I really was home.
- Bryanna Shane?
- Yup?
- Are you fine?
I nodded. My head hurt a little, but I knew I would soon improve. I looked at the man who was next to me and looking at me sweetly and touching my forehead.
- This is Vincent. He graduated in medicine and was passing by when you lost the
consciousness at the front door.
- I think we met somewhere. - He smiled at me.
That smile. Those hazel eyes. It could not be.
A noise comes from the kitchen and my mother gets up from the couch, hasty.
- I'm so sorry. Bryanna, why do not you accompany Vincent to the door?
I accompanied him to the door and Vincent closed the door.
- Bridget said you'd find someone.
- Vincent Baskerville?
- Yes I am.. I have immortality, do you remember?
- It is true. But how do you know who I am?
- Gradually I was realizing that it was not just that Bridget was within that body. That curiosity, that determination... Bridget would not try to find out my secret after she stayed at my house. In addition, she told me about another person in her body.
- What happened to Bridget?
- It's been centuries since that day. I spent quality time with her, but ...
- I'm so sorry.
- Do not worry. Human life is short and precious, and before she died, she asked me to continue with the person who was in her body. It took a while, but I finally found you, Bryanna. - He smiled gently as before.
- All this ... Is it really true?
- Of course - he spread his wings for a brief moment, without hiding the gentle smile and his sweet - The reality is a dream.

♕ XIII - black wings

We went home with Vincent always by my side. Bridget was completely impatient within my head that I had not talked to him during our tour, but I had other things to think about and he seemed to respect this perfectly.
It was getting dark when we crossed the front door.
- Will you have dinner?
- I don't think so.
- I do not want you to be like that because of me.
- I'll be fine.
He was silent for a few seconds, looking like he was going to say something. However, he only kissed my forehead and went to the dining room. I went upstairs and did not even changed clothes, just lay down on the bed and just falling asleep from fatigue.

I woke up suddenly in the middle of the night with a wing hit not far from Vincent's mansion. I looked at the clock. 3:30 am What kind of animal could make a fuss of those at this hour? The whole time I was there I never heard any noise like today. I went to the window and saw a winged creature with a pair of black wings. Immediately, I remembered the black feather that Ethan used to prepare that potion and I remembered the brands that had the back of Vincent.
Vincent. Yes, that pair of black wings certainly did not belong to any creature, but belonged to him, of course. I jumped the balcony and ran as fast as I could to try to achieve him.
- Vincent! Vincent! Wait, please.
He looked back and when he finally saw me, he stopped, but he said nothing at all, so I hurried to approach. He reached out right for me to catch up, however my vision started to get cloudy.
- Bridget ...
I really do not know what happened next.

- It's all right now. I'm here with you.
Was that a dream? I could not believe it. Everything seemed so ... real. I got up from bed, but my left wrist was hurting and bandaged.
- Vincent, what happened?
- Let's say I could hear you scream my name far and so I'm here now. Are you fine?
- I think so ... Vincent, would you say I'm crazy because I dreamed that you had wings?
- Of course not. I would never say something like it. The reality is a dream, I've said it before for you.
He pulled me closer and as soon as I put my head on his shoulder, I saw a pair of black wings involving me carefully, like a soft and velvety blanket.
- So what I saw ... was real?
- Yes. You were weak when started running towards me and I saw that your wrist was hurt. You jumped the window, didn't you?
I nodded, but I was not worried about the scolding he would give me. The simple fact of being involved in his wings was made I forget everything.
- You're not listening to me, right?
I got scared when I felt him breathing extremely close to my face and his lips touching mine seconds later.
- Can I have your attention now? - He smiled sweetly at me.
- I think so.
- You do not need more proof, right? You saw what you needed.
- I know what you are now. And this time I am absolutely sure.

♕ XII - desires

What was that? I could not tell. It was as if I were really there, as if it had been real. I could finally understand what Vincent was saying, what he really felt. However, I still could not say much about what he was actually. Anyway, it seemed that Bridget was more uncertain than me.
After some thought, I decided to look for Vincent. He was not anywhere in the house, but I found him in the woods entrance and ran to catch up. Hearing my steps, he stopped and waited for me.
- What happened?
- I think I saw how you became what you are now.
- You finally dreamed, right?
- Yes. But I'm still torn between two possible creatures.
- As much as they are similar, there is a difference that can be small or not, depends on the eye of the beholder.
- Yes, but I'm doubt about what to do.
- And what is your question?
- I do not know if I try to engage me to discover his secret or not.
- How come? Have you been so determined.
- Yes, but you said I would stay here until I find out everything, however, then I'll have to go home and I do not know if that's what I want.
- You will only return home if it is your wish. Otherwise, you can stay here forever. Anyway, I really want you to know what I am to so know what you really want.
However he did not know my real situation. He did not know that that body was not in the possession of Bridget Bellmont, but under the control of Bryanna Shane, a girl from a different time and he never thought would exist. I was torn between the desire to Bridget and mine, even though I do not know what is my desire for truth. Anyway, Bridget knew and she is the one to be with him.
- Are you fine?
- Yup.
- You need some rest. It will do you good to be thinking about that so much.
- I know.
- So rest. I'll be here for you always. You have all the world's time to seek the truth and you are just a step away from it now.
Vincent smiled, as always, making me feel even more divided. I do not find a smile like those in my epoch.

♕ XI- reflections

Ethan went again to the room after another discussion with Raphael again. He wanted to know why it always happens, however, did not know or even interested him know. The boy took a sort of diary that was under his pillow and skimmed a single page before grabbing his coat and leave.
- Are you going out again?
- You do not send in my life, Vincent.
- Do not discount your bad mood in me, I'm just asking.
- I'm sorry, but are private matters.
Vincent went on the stairs while Ethan was leaving through the front door.
- What happened to your brother?
- I do not know. You are who should know.
- If you keep acting this way you will end up becoming a shadow.
- Either way Ethan will not be allowed to stay here forever. Sooner or later I'll have some peace.
   Raphael sighed.
- Your mother would be astonished if she was here to see the difference between you and your brother.
Vincent shrugged and went to the bedroom. He knew that sooner or later he would have peace and quiet can enjoy all the inheritance he would receive.

A horse trotting through the forest quickly for some time could be listen until the animal stopped when it saw a human shadow not far. Ethan tied the reins on a tree branch and went toward the shadow, which was an old man with a deformed appearance, typical of an alchemist or wizard that time.
- Do not you dare spoil it, this is the last one left. You can only make a spell with her.
Ethan gave a bag of gold coins in exchange for a small wooden box box. The Alchemist smiled when he saw the amount of money that was in the bag disappeared in the shadows and the boy did the same then.

- What you got there?
- That's my business.
- All that comes in my house is my business too. What are you hiding?
Ethan did not give satisfaction to his father and ran up the stairs, almost running into Vincent, who was down for afternoon tea.
- What got into him?
- That's what I also wanted to know.

Ethan closed the bedroom door shut behind him and locked it quickly, to make sure nobody came in and interrupted him. He took off his coat and put the wooden box on the dresser. Again he took the book under the pillow and opened on a page that was very well marked.
The boy looked around the room and opened one of the drawers of the dresser, quickly searching until you find a small bottle with a liquid in light blue and he put in a small pot. Ethan looked back at the book and then opened the wooden box that held a black feather larger than that of any animal that had wings. He cut off it in the middle, because the book said he needed only half and the rest was burned, to make sure no one found out and then incorporated into the potion.
As he finished, the net was in lilac color, but still hand was exactly the default color for the potion was complete. He needed something more and he knew exactly where to get it. Ethan left the room, with the liquid back into the bottle and hidden in his pocket, along with a silver dagger.
Vincent and Raphael were in the room, each deep in thought when Ethan sound down the stairs catches their attention.
- It seems that no one waited for me for afternoon tea.
- We have no obligation to wait for you, Ethan. You know that delays are not tolerated.
- Always wanting to impose rules, right? We'll see when you will give orders.
- Are you challenging me?
Vincet knew it would not end well, so he got up from the couch and grabbed his coat before leaving to go to a horseback riding. He did not want to be near that house while they were discussing.
- Can you see? Vincent is ahamed to have someone as pathetic as you part of the family.
- I would say that he, like me, are tired of all that you do. You were not so, Ethan, what happened?
- I have nothing to talk to you. In addition, you have nothing that interests me unless your blood.
Ethan took the pocket silver dagger and did not hesitate to point against Raphael.
- What do you think you're doing? Lower this dagger now.
- You do not send me anymore!
Raphael could not deviate from the court that Ethan had on his back, where the blood began to run. A drop dripped on the bottle and the liquid lilac took violet tone, exactly the tone he needed.
- I do not need anything else. For me, you can die now.
- Ethan ... Do not tell me you're involved with black magic?
- I just used some features that black magic can offer me. How immortality.
The front door opens then and Vincent, seeing the bloody dagger and the father kneeling jumped on the twin without considering the consequences of his acts, causing the bottle to break and some of the liquid came into contact with the skin of the face and of his right hand. Ethan was clearly furious, because he could not make another potion and that everything had been ruined by Vincent. Anyway, he still managed to give a satisfactory smile to see Raphael falling dead in his own pool of blood.
- What did you do?
- I freed us from the tyranny of the man. You should thank me.
- You killed him to do something forbidden. Ethan, have you any idea what you did?
- Yes, I know what I did.
- You should be sorry!
- You may have been something I most longed for, but now I am the master of your life too.
Ethan got up and went to the room without another word, while Vincent cultivated a secret hate and a destination he did not know who would have to carry forever.
