Logan ran through the rooms quickly without making noise. Everything was as before, without missing anything. The room remained Phillip messy as usual and the impeccably tidy mother. The furniture was covered by a thin layer of dust, showing that the time passed quickly for them. He felt a lump in his throat as he remembered some of his human life. Everything fell apart after a few days. All the people he knew had simply gone never to return.
- I think this bricadeira has to end, do not you think?
Claude was downstairs, watch for any sign of the Logan home. However, he heard nothing. The demon was quiet as a mouse.
He walked up the front steps and saw a winged shadow moving quickly to another room. All would be there, Claude thought. What should belong to him would soon be back.
- It's the end, Logan Carter. His life as a demon and as a living end here.
Logan knew Claude was at the door and so did not need to look back. He was in Laura's room, watching the picture she had on the nightstand. Were precious moments, but should now be left behind. All he felt should die. His past should be buried never to be able to appear. But how to do this with live Claude? That way, always have someone to remind him of what he had done.
- You are right. And yours too.
- Yet insists on it?
Logan used his shadow to iron chains thick and heavy that they were strong enough to capture Claude, who retaliated by making the chains disappear. He approached lentamnte Logan, who got something out of the drawer and put it in his pants pocket. They stared for a few minutes and the boy managed to get out onto the balcony of the room, leaping nimbly to the room of Phillip. Claude would not let him escape, so moved nimbly through the interior of the house, locking all windows.
The boy jumped and cautiously entered through the front door, which was unlocked. However, not even bother to look back when you closed it, it felt a pair of eyes on it.
- Logan!
- Phillip?
- Mother! Logan is back!
The boy left the kitchen and ran to where Logan was, but kept looking back, hoping to see Laura coming towards them also, with moist eyes.
- You think you can fool me with this farce, Claude? My mother and brother are dead.
- If that's what you think ... Then kill them. I imagine that this will not affect you at all, does it?
Claude was leaning against the wall, watching the indecisive reaction Logan, who raised his hand to hit her brother, but then lowered it slowly. The Scarlet Line gave a laugh that made Phillip cling to Laura.
- You are definitely weak. Out a demon, but inside is still an ordinary human. Why are you afraid? You did not say they were a hoax? Then kill them!
- You think that's right, Logan?
Phillip was with tearful voice skepticism by the older brother. Laura also seemed deeply melancholic, but not directed his gaze to Logan, only for the boy who was crying.
- I thought you were no longer a monster, Logan, but I guess I was wrong. Is so overpowered that can not recognize his own family. Go away! I told you never to set foot in this house again!
Logan's defenses were on the ground at the same time. No, that was definitely not a scam. No one would be able to mimic that speech. Nothing in the world could play it.
He walked toward them and knelt down so he could look at the bottom of the tearful eyes of Phillip.
- I'm sorry. I never meant to hurt you. You are the only people who really are precious to me.
Phillip left the arms of Laura and hugged his brother, still sobbing. There was silence for minutes, but a stab of pain caused him to stray from the youngest brother. Was bleeding. In the hands of Phillip, had a dirty black blood with his knife.
- This is what happens to those who are weak.
Claude made the two people from turning into ashes instantly. Logan clenched his teeth and fists back tears.
- I'll kill you for this!
Logan ran without thinking of the consequences and managed to make brief scratches on Claude, who used his claws to cut her face, letting more blood that dripped on the floor.
- It is shameful. A person like you does not deserve the Real Poison. But do not worry, I'll take it from you in a few moments.
Saying this, he played Logan against the wall. Blood now trickled from his mouth. He got up, staggered, and climbed the shaky stairs and ran to his room. Claude would not miss the opportunity and followed him quickly, preventing the passage of the porch kid.
- Why go on like this? No need to complicate things.
- You are right. But it ends here.
Logan threw a lighter on the ground and the fire began to spread through the room, leaving Claude cornered enough time to get out. And ran down the stairs.
- You will not escape me.
The fire had taken hold of the room and was already in the hall near the staircase. Claude knew it would have serious injury if touched the fire, but would not miss another chance to kill that boy. By doing so, had a portion of his clothes and burned his skin wound, but would catch it anyway. The stairs were on fire, so he jumped. Logan was losing a lot of blood and it was making him weak, making it easier for Claude. However, the heat of the fire made her no good.
- If you thought you would get away from me is wrong. If I have to die I'll take you with me.
- No you will not.
Logan had time to get away from him when a wooden roof fell on the body of Claude, leaving him stranded and the body starting to be consumed by the flames. If he did not get out of there fast, would also be engulfed by fire. To be losing strength, Logan crawled quickly on my knees to the back door.
He had time to look back toward the glowing flames that consumed everything he knew, everything he had. Yes, he knew this would happen, but at least his past would definitely die because the fire would not forgive anything. Another piece of burning wood fell near him, a clear signal to him to stop thinking about it and hurry to leave.
Logan!
Logan!
Logan!
Logan!
The voices of four people that haunted him were dying too. Jasper, Harvey, Phillip and Laura. That was the absolute end. He was finally free.
