☓ 4. The world isn't made of love

Kristie tried to stop her tears, knowing that he would lose the affection of Dakota, who remained there, comforting her relentlessly. Alexy was close, trying to offer silent support so she could overcome what he was feeling. He helped her to sit up in bed.
- You have to contain. Can not be attached to the feeling of someone who is already dead.
- Why are you talking like that?
- You can not just cling to the love and affection people give to you. Besides, I promised I would not affectionate with you all the time.
- But you are my guardian demon.
- Yes, but how we take care of humans is different. We will not just give love and affection. When needed, we will be hard and demanding.
His expression softened to see how the girl was reacting. Yes, losing a loved one was hard to overcome, but she was not alone. Furthermore, it would fulfill its mission anyway. The fact that she trusted him to be able to cry was a good start.
- Listen, at some point I'll have to go back to my home and if I give you all the love that Aiden promised you, you will have overcome the pain of losing him. You'll just have a bigger wound in your soul and I can not let that happen.
- Dakota ...
- I'm here to be your comfort, but also to make it grow. I gotta make you see things as they really are and not turn them to please you. You have to adapt to circumstances. Life is a game of survival.
- You do not know what it is to lose a person who knows a lifetime.
- No, I do not really know. I was born a demon and this is what I need to know. The first thing you have to do is put what torments you out. I have to know the root of this problem.
She flinched. Was not yet ready to start counting what was really tormenting. As much as Dakota was there, when he had cried supported and now was giving a sort of parental scolding, she could not just tell your problems to him.
- I told you once that we need to be a team. How will we do this if you closes when I talk about it?
- I'm not ready to talk about it.
- I'm not forcing you to say anything now, I'm just saying that sooner or later we have to talk about it. - He looked straight at her - I am extending my hand, only you decide whether to hold it or not.
Dakota analyzed the change in her expression carefully, measuring the weight of his words about a teenager wounded heart.
- I'll say one thing to you, do not expect you to understand: the world is not made of love. It is made of persistence and willpower.
Kristie remembered when he told her to compare it to Aiden if necessary, however, increasingly she saw the difference between them: Dakota was a man who worked rationally, passing feelings into the background, unlike Aiden, I always thought the feelings and then when it really should think. The devil never know what it is to lose someone so important, never have to go to a cemetery and never feel the pinch in the heart to know that you can not see that person.
She saw him sitting on the window ledge with eyes closed, as if staying there forever. Anyway, his serious expression completely disappeared when he closed his eyes. With wings stored, it could be a beautiful and enigmatic human being.
The girl found herself staring at it for too long. Not worth developing any kind of affection for him, she Diza herself. Sooner or later, Dakota leave and let her walk alone. Moreover, he made it clear he did not want any affection from her; he just wanted her to trust him till he has overcome the loss of Aiden. The world is not made of love. That was what he said loudly. It is made of persistence and willpower.
Yes, she would have to learn to develop both. Would have to learn something that until now never thought I would learn. During all this time her life was wonderful, without having absolutely nothing missing. But now everything had collapsed, leaving a large void inside her. Kristie held a portrait door and repeatedly alternated glances between photography and Aiden Dakota. She could see that deep down, their essence was similar, but soon accepted what he thought he could not accept: had to stop looking Aiden in people. She had to see what was actually Dakota and strive to evolve. After all, he was there exactly for this purpose.
He was reaching out to help her get out of the crisis which had fallen and not hold it was a senseless act. The pride was the only thing she could have now. He said it was the painkiller it was therefore at the time of using it to heal.
