⌘ Ⅸ. Until the day you die

Date became the happiest person in the world when even still being a child, witnessed the birth of his sister, Demetria Collins. She was just like him, the slightly red hair and green eyes, no mackerel, which was rare. He felt that this frail little baby was a lost part of his heart, and even if the boy was still too young to understand what was happening.

The Collins moved to Glasgow, where their father had built a house in a little further away from town, where they could be alone and create two children without worries. Demetria already two years old when the change happened, while Date was four years old.
With time and the gradual parental permission both different parts of the garden and the fields of wheat that had at their disposal so that they could explore were discovering. The brothers were already reaching adolescence and feeling something more than brotherly love when they discovered something that went beyond the modest garden that was at the back door of the house. There was no word that could describe the beauty of that place and not even a perfect painting could capture what they were feeling at that moment. Combined so that the place would be their secret corner, where no one would bother them and where they would be hours and hours when love finally appeared. Date, being the eldest, was aware that he should not harbor any feelings for Demetria alternative, because the rules of the time were strictly against marriage between brothers. However, he could not contain the huge affection he felt and he saw that the girl was the one who suffered most in trying to hide it.
- Why wait so long to be together?
They saw an old alchemist not far away, with a smile that made the spine chilling and Demetria Date tighten sister against him.
- Fear not, children. I just want to offer my services to make them above human beings.
- You're bluffing. Come on, Demetria.
A wolf appeared to block their path with a ferocious snarl while the alchemist continued talking:
- I have something in my possession that can make them immortal and able to leave this place and start a life. You may not believe me, but I know I will need me. I'll be in my house, six miles from here.
Finally the wolf gave way for the couple of brothers and disappeared along with the alchemist without a trace.
- Date, you think that's true?
- It's a silly old fool.
Anyway, Date knew that the man was not crazy. He could feel the depths of your soul that something would happen soon. A black cloud covered his thoughts away and clarity of ideas.

Demetria'd turned seventeen when she contracted meningitis. Date was warned to stay away from her sister until she was cured. However, he remained in the room beside her, taking care that nothing lacked. She was like that two days ago and the doctor said the girl would not go that day, but the boy did not know that.
- Date, you can get sick too.
- I do not care. Would do anything to see you healed.
Silence hung between them until he remembers the old alchemist. During this time, Date not believe any of it, but the only hope we had was that. Went out the window and kept running frantically to see a rustic wooden house isolated in the midst of a great desert terrain. He felt a shiver down the spine, but it was all for the good of Demetria.
- I was waiting for you, boy. This can help heal his sister. I recommend that you drink first.
Date was suspicious, but if the alchemist was saying that he should drink first, what harm could it do? Maybe it could make you immune to diseases. The vial was small, so he arranged to have enough left over to Demetria. The fluid was red and sour, but with the sweet taste in the end that left the boy with a slight dizziness. The old man was no longer there and the boy ran as fast as he could back home.
- He assured me it would.
Hearing this, she just drinking the rest, however, the effect was divergent to what happened to the boy. Demetria became drowsy and fell asleep seconds later, interestingly also making Date falling asleep beside her, sheltering her in his arms.

Demetria was still asleep when the sound reaches the ears of horses Date and a firm knock on the door draws your attention. His hearing was better than before, allowing you to hear the conversation.
- This is impossible! My son would never do that!
- The proper owner of the house told me that his son stole one of his formulas.
The boy felt the hatred boiling inside him at that very moment. The steps were firm while the guards scoured the house and he had just enough time to go out the window with the speed he had acquired with the potion. He glanced at the smooth face of Demetria, who slept soundly through the fields and disappeared, anxious to get to the house of the alchemist.

- He's getting away! Faster!
Demetria was completely healed and struggled to leave home and find Date. It was her fault, no doubt. If she had not gotten sick, he would not have gone to the home of a strange man to care for her. Her parents have left her out and the only option left is to imitate the brother jumping out the window. At first, the girl did not know where to go, but he saw a shadow moving quickly through the fields of wheat with the sound of horses behind him. She started to run, without knowing that he could achieve a great speed. The sound of gunfire made her heart beat faster.
The horses stopped when Date froze in place. With this, Demetria won time to get there just in time to prevent tripping.
- Do not!
The soldier pointed a gun at her without pity in his eyes.
- I did not protect him if I were you.
The sentence ended with a gunshot in the chest of the girl, who fell to the ground, squinting, almost dead. As soon as she saw him, only had the strength to reach out toward him.
Date felt tears running down his face and the salty taste burning his throat. He moved on, leaving with tears blurred his vision and the anger growing inside him at the same time. He saw the lifeless body of his sister, a result of his stupidity. Never to return home.

- What you thought, damn old? No, it does not interest me, I'll just get rid of you!
- Killing me will not bring back your precious Demetria.
Date growled even more enraged. The flame of hatred was completely lit and powered by the expression of the alchemist and ironic tone, as if everything is natural.
The boy could not bear to hear the name Demetria out of the mouth of that old. Quickly broke the neck of the alchemist and the left lying on the ground. Date left the old man's house and shot fire at all, for there was nothing left. He walked unsteadily, and sat on the edge of a river, which allowed the tears to roll wildly.
