⌘ XV. The first and the last time

For a moment, Date forgot the pain and everything I was thinking while watching her sleep Clara. The fever was going down, but still persisted and he could not help but find food and bring him water. He did not have any type of home remedy and the alchemist had been totally destroyed and there was nothing there that was intact. Also could not take it back to the cottage, because face serious problems with the girl's family. The only option left was to remain there until the fever disappeared.
She no longer delirious, which was a good sign, however, the girl was still asleep and the temperature still above normal. The position of the sun should be around noon and still no sign that she would wake up.
- Clara.
A, even in the deepest sleep girl could hear Date calling her, but she could not open the eyes to awake.
Please wait. I gotta talk to Date now, otherwise it will be too late.
- What are you talking about? Demetria, please explain me.
I can not say exactly everything. Demetria said, with a sigh It is exceedingly complicated and that only Date will understand, I'm really sorry. The only thing I can say is it will be the last time I'll use your body for something for my benefit.
- OK.
   Thank you.
Clara's eyes widened, but Date could clearly see that this person was not her. Anyway, he was happy to see that person too, despite feeling the emptiness inside him take a new form. However, fever was still in that body, regardless of who was controlling.
- It does not bring me good memories.
- I know that, but it was the beginning of it all, right?
- Certainly, but either way I do not like the idea of reviving it, especially now that you are in charge. I'm trying to avoid the last of all the ways that I can do that and put all my defenses in a state of threat.
- I'm sorry for that, but you know the reason better than me.
Date looked away. He knew, of course, but did not intend to admit it so soon. After all, why would he be there trying to take care of Clara if not why? Was granted the fact that all the care he was having with her would not reach Demetria somehow, but every effort would be worthwhile.
- It's what we promised each other.
- Do you still remember?
- How could I forget? I'm still here, are not I?
Demetria rejected cotton dampened that date would put on her forehead. At the moment, Clara was free of any discomfort that fever could provide, so there was no reason to be careful. She had been through this before and it did not matter the severity of fever, since her sentence had been given. The cause of death of the girl should be the disease she contracted in the past and not the shot of a soldier who chased Date. The course everything has changed and both Demetria when the boy wondered if the alchemist did not know all this. He offered a potion that would allow the two to live together forever, but he did not say exactly how it would happen.
Maybe she reborn season after season while he remained immortal and intact, just waiting for her return? Who could know? He could find a way to put an end to his own life too, but how? So far out Date immune to anything, causing him to discover skills that he never knew he had, was an accomplished swimmer, immune to any kind of deadly disease, no longer depended on water or food to maintain and even sleep had become a luxury, where he could choose when and where to sleep. The shots had no effect, causing him to discover that just died because Demetria had not yet become; it was resistant to any kind of poison. So what could cause his death? Maybe it is the burdens carry with immortality and see all reaching building a family and happiness as he passed the whole life stuck in the past and everything that is related to his mortal life.
- I do not see you like surporto, Date. I am not speaking only for myself, but also for Clara. All she is experiencing is due to the fact that you are so rude too. You know well that it is not good for a person immortal.
- And you say this with all possible conviction.
- Take the time with Clara. She can put together all the pieces that are here.
The touch of Demetria in his heart was the last thing he felt before seeing Clara taking control of her body again.
- Sorry.
Clara knew that touch was the result of the conversation that Demetria has had to date, but she felt embarrassed to be playing it that way. Before she could take his hand, he grabbed her wrist gently and firmly.
She looked Date, whose face was wet with tears and golden eyes expressed a mixed feeling of pain and compliance with any hope.
- Date ... Are you okay?
- Finally I can say that. I am fine.
It was as if a great weight had gone from his shoulders at the same time that a chasm opened in his heart. Date played Clara's face and saw that the fever had disappeared. Demetria was no longer there.
- I'm really sorry.
-. Was not like that she should have died. Now everything is right. You are now cured, must return home.
- How about you?
- I'll be fine. I could fulfill my promise to the end and now there's nothing but torment me.
- I'm not referring to that, but rather about what you will do from now?
- Who knows? Maybe I stay here or I might go elsewhere.
Clara was standing, looking to Date with uncertainty. Even with what happened, even with the fact that he had been stuck in the past, she still felt connected to him.
- Will I still be able to see you sometime?
- Of course. - He opened a gentle smile - Whenever you want. Just say my name and I'll appear.

⌘ XIV. Is this the way it's got to be?

We should not be too far from there, just a few more meters, I'm sure.
Clara could not tell if he was doing the right thing, however, could not lie in bed waiting for something to happen. It was not just Date who needed help, but Demetria also wanted to help her and so the girl could not refuse. The fever grew increasingly leaving her with the feeling that her body was burning and delusions began to appear, masking any trace of sobriety that remained to her. The legs were limp and cold sweat trickled down her forehead. Anyway, quitting was the only alternative now that was far from the cottage and Veronica should be worried wildly behind her.
- Demetria ... You sure where we are going?
I know that your body is weak, but I can feel the presence of Date nearby. He is in the garden, I'm sure.
Clara remembered that Date had said that place was restricted and was special for him and Demetria, what made Clara feel an invasive. As she walked, she could see that I was near a garden because there were a lot of flowers, among them teeth dandelions, daisies, sunflowers and other flowers that she had never seen.
It's been so long since I've been here ... Anyway, we need to find Date.
She had already forgotten it. Date was the priority and Clara should use the last vestiges of strength he had left to help Demetria find it.
As she walked, the girl saw that the garden was huge and certainly well taken care of by someone, because there was not a weed there.
- I think there's no one here.
Date can not be anywhere else, wait a moment. Go to the lake, there you may drink some water and rest.
It was exactly what we needed at that time Clara. After taking a bit of fresh lake water, she lay down on the soft grass and allowed to sleep a bit in an attempt to dimunir fever.

Date was already adapted to take care of that place even if no one besides him frequent the garden. Demetria was no longer there to enjoy his work, but what mattered was inteded.
The breeze gently passed by him, causing him to look in the direction of movement of the flowers. Everything was perfect, without any harm to weed that garden. He looked at everything and thought it would be in all eternity he lay ahead. Date was already taking care of that garden for years and years and so far has remained stuck for an individual promise. Anyway, he did not think of that before you know Clara; his thoughts were changing and he was not even realizing it. Looked at the weeds that had taken off and threw them away there, hoping to also get rid of the thoughts I was having.
There was nothing more he could do for that reason went to the lake to take a little fresh water, but her throat was no longer significant after seeing one not far from where the body was lying on the floor. Date approached with due caution, but accelerated steps minutes later.
Clara's forehead was burning and she was delirious something he could not understand. He held the girl in his arms and carried her to the shade of a tree, since leaving it in the sun would not be right to do something. Surely she had escaped from home and he could not take it back because it would have serious problems with her family. So he had left were only two alternatives: to let her die there or take care of her until she is able to return alone.
Date could leave it as it was. After all, those with a fever the girl would not live any longer. However, he had already seen Demetria go through the same fever, delirium through the same situation and the boy did not want to see it again, especially with a person who was an almost identical copy of his sister. He had not much to do, as long as the potion took the old alchemist, no human disease has never affected him since.

Clara clearly felt something wet on his forehead and a cool breeze going through her, making her shiver with cold. Her body ached and she had no strength to even change position. Only managed to raise his right arm and grab something like wet cotton that was on her forehead.
A hand touched the girl's forehead, startling her.
- I thought you had gone.
- You are not on speaking terms. - Date placed a blanket over her. - Are you better now?
   She nodded.
- Where'd you get it?
- That's all I have from when everything happened. Now try to eat something, otherwise can not get up.
Clara managed to eat an apple and some blueberries because her stomach would not allow greater than what meal. Date was not fully pleased by the amount of food she ate, but at least everything was still inside her body. He traded the cotton for one that had more water, causing Clara wince.
- You need to sleep. His fever is lowering, but only sleeping is that you can get better.
She was close to falling asleep when you feel something solid near her.
Date does not do this forever. Enjoy it while he wants to take care of you.
- Demetria? You made me come here for that?
I told you to promise that he would take care of him, did not I?
- Yes, but ...
He can not take his mind thinking about the past. Now that you're here, there's a chance for Date can move on.
Clara could not find Demetria to say what he wanted, so he had to concentrate on sleep. Anyway, the closeness and warmth of Date prevented her from sleeping at first.
- Good night, Date.
   He did not answer immediately.
- Good night ... Clara.
It was the first time he said her name.

⌘ XIII. You bring out the peace in me

Date at the time he left, he took not only the color of the days of Clara. She also left a high fever, which make Veronica be worry. It had been two days since the girl was in that state and unconsciously looked to the window, which should be open at all costs. The temperature swung it several times during the day, sometimes she was stabilized and had the strength to get up, sometimes could not get out of bed and had repeated chills, so that any medication was able to lower the fever.
 - You think you can control me that way and simply make my mother think I'm sick?
If you were not feeling the same as me, you would not let your body get well. Date hurt you too, right?
- The issue is not that! Date'm not worried, but with my mother. - Clara's voice sounded false even to her, but she hoped Demetria not notice.
Do you really think you can fool me? Your voice indicates that you are more sore than I; I want you to answer me this: What do you feel about him?
The question caught Clara surprise. She had not stopped to think about it clearly, acted only driven by the soul of Demetria and therefore her feelings were not placed in priority. The only thing she knew for sure was that Date brought peace for her, even if he was sad or distant.
 I'm waiting for an answer.
- This will be useful to you, by chance?
Depending on the answer, yes. However, I want the truth so I can confirm a hypothesis.
- Hypothesis?
I can have a brief idea of what you feel, but still not sure. Anyway, the concern you have for him is great.
- Yes, I worry about him. After all, to see a person who has a whole life ahead of suffering and being alone is something that requires care. Also, when I'm around I feel calmer Date; it brings me peace.
And do you think he thinks the same of you?
- I'm sure not. He only has thoughts for you and not for someone else.
Get up from the bed and go look for Date.
- What?
Do not you hear me? Get up and go find Date.
- You know where he is?
Date never departs far from this house. Only there is only one place where he might be and that is not so far from here, but you do not know. I'll take you there, but only if you promise to take good care of him for me.
- Demetria, you're saying ...
It's painful for me to admit this, but I can not stay haunting his thoughts. Date has not done anything wrong and he does not deserve to have that weight on his shoulders for the rest of life. As much as I still have a great love for him, it will not do to let him thinking of me my whole life, since I will not be able to revive more.

⌘ Ⅻ. Injuries

If she knew that those words were like a punch in his stomach, Clara certainly would not have said that. Was granted the fact that she did not know the promise he had made, even Demetria knew that and for that reason he was not to blame. Anyway, the pain was not just the fact that she said that to him, but because of the sadness and bitterness are both inhabiting the heart of the girl host as the core of Demetria.
The golden his eyes were drooped as she finished speaking and that Clara realized he should not have said any of that. But it was too late; everything had hit it with dexterity in the deepest heart.
- Date, forgive me, please.
- No, you're right. I should even go here.
There was nothing in this world that do Date change your mind when he thought of something. That's what Clara heard Demetria say deep inside of her consciousness.
- I did not want to have never spoken it, but I'm trying so hard to help you and it seems ... It seems I ... Nothing is enough for you.
- The day you lose everything by trying to find a cure for the person you love, maybe we can share the same space.
- That's not fair! Why can't you try to receive my help?
- Because do not you know anything! You're just a mortal who knows nothing!
- What are you saying? You told me everything, so I know how to help you.
- Really? - Date said skeptically - And what will you do about it?
She retreated. Had not thought of something exactly traced and concrete to do. Moreover, his tone was somewhat cold and aggressive manner, which implied the insecurity of Clara. Date was still there, staring at her so inexplicably devoid of feeling. It was as if he was completely dead inside.
- Why?
He remained in complete silence, waiting for her to continue.
- I understand that you are completely alone and bitter at having lost everything that was important to you. I also missed something important, but I'm trying to handle it the best I can.
- If you are referring to the separation of their parents, this is not something that can be compared with my case.
- Yes, I know not, but ... - Clara did not know what else to say. Date was showing an iron wall against anything she could speak. Tears flooded her eyes, letting the blurred vision and the first rays of the morning sun began to cut the sky. It was only a matter of time before her mother woke up and realized she was not somewhere in the house.
- You have nothing more to say?
The weeping Clara clutched his throat, preventing her from saying anything. Date stared into her eyes for a long moment, but she felt that he was not exactly looking for it. Was to Demetria, who was even more silent and hidden, perhaps because of having participated in some form of that discussion.
He was coldly shunning every passing second. For Clare, it was as if the distance between them was a cliff, which increased with every step I took away from her Date. The sun was determined to illuminate the sky and she could not take longer to get back to her house. Anyway, she had lost sight of Date, so there was no reason to go there and headed back home.

She entered with difficulty through the window and crawled into the bed, not bothering to change clothes. Looked into the mirror and saw that her face was completely dominated by the expression of melancholy. Tears were streaming without her noticing; maybe those tears were not really her, but Clara could not deny that she was also hurt inside.

⌘ Ⅺ. "Misery loves my Company"

Clara was completely absorbed in thoughts she could not sleep. However, the facts that were developing in her life were not the only cause, but also the lone figure of Date on a tree toward her window. By being distant, she could not see his face, but did not look like he was sleeping.
The girl quickly changed and was finishing skip the window when he sees Date descending the tree. Clara stayed where he was, afraid that he had seen it from the window. He stood for a few minutes and tilted his head back, but not as a person who was admiring the starry sky. Date posture straightened and moved on, without paying attention to what was around and not even feel the presence of the girl, who let out the breath he even knew he was suspending.
Decidedly, she followed every step of the guy at a safe distance, lest it be discovered. As he passed beyond the wheat fields, Clara thought of as Date was a fragile person, who hid behind a mask of coldness and callousness. Not only was she who thought of it; Demetria, despite being unable to speak so clearly also shared the same opinion of the host.
Wheat fields were over and he had not stopped walking. It was as if Date was not going to a specific place, but by walking just walk, to test the limits of the universe and of his own body. An immortal powers and once he no longer feared to sleep, tiredness, cold and even hunger and thirst. He was not human anymore and would have to settle with this for the rest of his life. Stopped in the middle of nowhere, like something was blocking the passage of it, but there was absolutely nothing, just the weight of his conscience, which prevented him from leaving the area that had once been his home. Date did not actually promise to Demetria while she was alive, but he did it to punish himself for having convicted the only person he really had loved and tried to protect.
However, he never had a 'rebirth' of his sister, prinicpalmente now after many, many years. In addition, the boy did not expect to feel what still felt in the past; he did not expect to feel anything for anyone, even if that person was an almost perfect representation of Demetria. Misery loved his company and for that reason Date would not be totally alone.

Clara saw him back slowly, but did not know why. This time, she could not hide, she was seen in a slightly distant open field of wheat fields and there was no tree to hide it. While he was looking down, she might still have a chance to escape unnoticed.
- I was not clear enough? Do not want to see you.
She could not invent a lie or try to escape. Date is not easy to fool, Demetria warned.
- Yes, but I saw you from the window and I could not ignore what you told me.
- You can not do anything.
His gaze made a shiver down her spine.
- I can not bear it anymore! I'm trying to help you and you do not even try to recognize it! If you do not want to look at my face, get out of here, after all you have eternity ahead, right?

⌘ Ⅹ. World of Pain

Clara saw that the pain still lived in the heart of Date, so that just the fact that he had to remember everything that made the tears fall, revealing that he still had a wound that was not healed. At least she knew everything to try to comfort him somehow.
- I really feel sorry for you, Date, but I think you can not continue this way. That will not do you good.
- Why do you care? After all, you do not even remember anything clearer than the time of death of Demetria. Now that you know everything, go away and leave me alone.
She hesitated. Could not leave the boy alone and suffering with the past. Clara knelt beside him, but did not think to touch it at first, fearing that he acted unkindly. However, he marveled at the feel of his arms around her and his face resting on her shoulder. Date sobbing painfully, as the day that Demetria had died.
The girl was returning slowly, as she realized how much he needed solace.
- I wanted to do something different ... - he still sobbed like a lost child - Please, I'm sorry.
Clara did not know if he was saying it to her or to Demetria therefore remained silent, stroking his back gently. Even without knowing it, to see the boy cry like that broke her heart.
- I love you, Date.
- No, please. I do not deserve anything.
- Why do you do this? You are immortal, why not try to find other people?
- To continue to suffer? I'd rather suffer only once.
- So you do not want to hear that I loved you so?
He nodded. Why did he devote to someone who would die in the coming decades? AIn addition, everyone would realize that he would never die and would always be young.
- And also because you do not even really know me to say that. I know something hesitate Demetria on you, but I prefer not to receive any more kind of love.
Date was already standing and sober again, as if that moment of weakness it had never existed. He even said something about the protection offered to Clara, but she knew deep down that he was grateful. After all, his eyes do not lie.
- Stay away from here, please.
- Date, can I ask you something?
- Yes, but I can not say that I will respond.
- What happened to that garden?
The question caught the guy off guard.
- I can not tell you that. Demetria promised to secrecy that place for the rest of my life, even though she was not with me.
- Do you still go there?
- Sometimes yes, but try to avoid. The world to me is made of pain and anguish and I do not want anyone involved in it.
The pressure of his lips on her forehead was something unexpected, which made sensitized to the situation of loneliness and pain in Clara that he was immersed.

⌘ Ⅸ. Until the day you die

Date became the happiest person in the world when even still being a child, witnessed the birth of his sister, Demetria Collins. She was just like him, the slightly red hair and green eyes, no mackerel, which was rare. He felt that this frail little baby was a lost part of his heart, and even if the boy was still too young to understand what was happening.

The Collins moved to Glasgow, where their father had built a house in a little further away from town, where they could be alone and create two children without worries. Demetria already two years old when the change happened, while Date was four years old.
With time and the gradual parental permission both different parts of the garden and the fields of wheat that had at their disposal so that they could explore were discovering. The brothers were already reaching adolescence and feeling something more than brotherly love when they discovered something that went beyond the modest garden that was at the back door of the house. There was no word that could describe the beauty of that place and not even a perfect painting could capture what they were feeling at that moment. Combined so that the place would be their secret corner, where no one would bother them and where they would be hours and hours when love finally appeared. Date, being the eldest, was aware that he should not harbor any feelings for Demetria alternative, because the rules of the time were strictly against marriage between brothers. However, he could not contain the huge affection he felt and he saw that the girl was the one who suffered most in trying to hide it.
- Why wait so long to be together?
They saw an old alchemist not far away, with a smile that made the spine chilling and Demetria Date tighten sister against him.
- Fear not, children. I just want to offer my services to make them above human beings.
- You're bluffing. Come on, Demetria.
A wolf appeared to block their path with a ferocious snarl while the alchemist continued talking:
- I have something in my possession that can make them immortal and able to leave this place and start a life. You may not believe me, but I know I will need me. I'll be in my house, six miles from here.
Finally the wolf gave way for the couple of brothers and disappeared along with the alchemist without a trace.
- Date, you think that's true?
- It's a silly old fool.
Anyway, Date knew that the man was not crazy. He could feel the depths of your soul that something would happen soon. A black cloud covered his thoughts away and clarity of ideas.

Demetria'd turned seventeen when she contracted meningitis. Date was warned to stay away from her sister until she was cured. However, he remained in the room beside her, taking care that nothing lacked. She was like that two days ago and the doctor said the girl would not go that day, but the boy did not know that.
- Date, you can get sick too.
- I do not care. Would do anything to see you healed.
Silence hung between them until he remembers the old alchemist. During this time, Date not believe any of it, but the only hope we had was that. Went out the window and kept running frantically to see a rustic wooden house isolated in the midst of a great desert terrain. He felt a shiver down the spine, but it was all for the good of Demetria.
- I was waiting for you, boy. This can help heal his sister. I recommend that you drink first.
Date was suspicious, but if the alchemist was saying that he should drink first, what harm could it do? Maybe it could make you immune to diseases. The vial was small, so he arranged to have enough left over to Demetria. The fluid was red and sour, but with the sweet taste in the end that left the boy with a slight dizziness. The old man was no longer there and the boy ran as fast as he could back home.
- He assured me it would.
Hearing this, she just drinking the rest, however, the effect was divergent to what happened to the boy. Demetria became drowsy and fell asleep seconds later, interestingly also making Date falling asleep beside her, sheltering her in his arms.

Demetria was still asleep when the sound reaches the ears of horses Date and a firm knock on the door draws your attention. His hearing was better than before, allowing you to hear the conversation.
- This is impossible! My son would never do that!
- The proper owner of the house told me that his son stole one of his formulas.
The boy felt the hatred boiling inside him at that very moment. The steps were firm while the guards scoured the house and he had just enough time to go out the window with the speed he had acquired with the potion. He glanced at the smooth face of Demetria, who slept soundly through the fields and disappeared, anxious to get to the house of the alchemist.

- He's getting away! Faster!
Demetria was completely healed and struggled to leave home and find Date. It was her fault, no doubt. If she had not gotten sick, he would not have gone to the home of a strange man to care for her. Her parents have left her out and the only option left is to imitate the brother jumping out the window. At first, the girl did not know where to go, but he saw a shadow moving quickly through the fields of wheat with the sound of horses behind him. She started to run, without knowing that he could achieve a great speed. The sound of gunfire made her heart beat faster.
The horses stopped when Date froze in place. With this, Demetria won time to get there just in time to prevent tripping.
- Do not!
The soldier pointed a gun at her without pity in his eyes.
- I did not protect him if I were you.
The sentence ended with a gunshot in the chest of the girl, who fell to the ground, squinting, almost dead. As soon as she saw him, only had the strength to reach out toward him.
Date felt tears running down his face and the salty taste burning his throat. He moved on, leaving with tears blurred his vision and the anger growing inside him at the same time. He saw the lifeless body of his sister, a result of his stupidity. Never to return home.

- What you thought, damn old? No, it does not interest me, I'll just get rid of you!
- Killing me will not bring back your precious Demetria.
Date growled even more enraged. The flame of hatred was completely lit and powered by the expression of the alchemist and ironic tone, as if everything is natural.
The boy could not bear to hear the name Demetria out of the mouth of that old. Quickly broke the neck of the alchemist and the left lying on the ground. Date left the old man's house and shot fire at all, for there was nothing left. He walked unsteadily, and sat on the edge of a river, which allowed the tears to roll wildly.

⌘ Ⅷ. Without your soul

Clara did not see that guy for two whole days in the garden. The wolf also disappeared without a trace, but it also no longer thought of venturing into the wheat fields again, not with what he said to her. Anyway, she still wanted to see him ... What was his name? Yes, his name was Date. She did not know how he remembered his name, but what mattered was that she would not forget. What was the relationship he had with her to treat her that way?
The girl could only remember a few fragments of the conversation you had with him, because she herself was not taking control of his actions at that moment, even if it was present. It was as if her past wanted to take over her entire body, as if she were just a host and was now being ruled not only the life of someone she did not know, but also of his own being.

He still could not get away from that place. Also could not shake the conversation with whoever it was, since the two souls were manifested simultaneously. At least the girl did not return to those fields and it was a comfort. Maybe in time she would forget everything and he.
- Have not I said this is not your place? What are you doing here?
- I'm sorry, but I could not stay away.
Date thought it would be at peace, but he cheated. She was persistent, even after everything he said and did against her.
- Demetria, I've been very clear with you and I need not repeat anything I said, is not it?
That name was unknown to Clara. Who was Demetria? Why is he called that?
- Who is Demetria?
So she was not being manipulated. It was just a foolish host for which it was not worth discussing.
- This does not concern you, girl. Go away.
Clara did not know what I would do or what I was doing. The only thing she knew at that moment was that she needed to do something. She needed to show the young man that she was not just a mere puppet of a phantom.
- I'm not leaving. I will not leave you alone.
- What do you know about me? You know nothing, not even who you are.
- I may not know anything about me, but I know your name, Date.
- And what does that indicate? I have no relationship with you, girl, just who is within you.
- You're talking about Demetria?
Date not know whether to laugh over her innocence or the fact that she was trying to have a casual conversation, which was not working very well.
- Yes, I am. But you know?
- No, but I've been inside it in a dream. You were there too.
He did not want to give attention to the conversation, but what Clara began telling caught his attention.
- That's true, is not it?
- What do you think?
Clara never liked them to do this kind of question. It was as if they did not believe it and were doing some kind of scorn and skepticism at the same time. Date was about to leave when she took his hand.
- Why can not you stay and talk? You did not.
- What are your basis for saying this?
- You even shows that there is no need for any research. I've realized that there's something weird between us and I'm sure you've noticed that too. Why can not you tell me what happened in the past when I was Demetria?
